SigH in the vegetative state
The spo0H gene encodes for early sporulation sigma factor σH 27. Its expression is repressed during vegetative growth by binding of AbrB to its upstream promoter region, with the repression being gradually lifted as the cells enter mid-logarithmic growth 28.
