SinR Starvation – activation of Spo0A |
SinR during starvation
As the cells enter stationary phase, the repressor activity of SinR is lifted as levels of activated Spo0A~P increase and allow for binding to the most upstream promoter sequence of the sinI gene 14. Binding of SinI to SinR inactivates the repressor 47 and subsequently derepresses a large subset of genes, including those required for biofilm formation and sporulation 18, 44.
